The bottom of one gate had been trimmed with a chainsaw AFTER the gate was installed ( because they installed the gate backwards ). Hinges were installed crooked, fence posts were trimmed to the proper height with a chainsaw ( again, AFTER the fence was assembled ) and only after requesting fence post caps were they installed to cover up their sloppy work. Concrete spilled in the middle of our lawn was left for US to clean up and our front lawn was torn to pieces because their crew was too lazy to carry materials around the house or put plywood down to drive their tractor over.
A 9' wide double gate was assembled and installed with the active gate being a full foot narrower than the inactive gate and when we complained , we were told that we were "being picky" ( although they would NOT have been paid unless it was fixed ).
**BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE PHOTOS OF THEIR "CUSTOM" FENCE WORK AT OUR HOME** Terrible from start to finish. Instead of Mr. Shamblin being here to either perform the work himself or, at the very least, supervising his employees, he would show up only after we called to complain about the shoddy, half-ass work that his crew was doing . It took them over A MONTH to install 274 linear feet of 6' wooden dog ear privacy fence in our back yard and the end result is MUCH different from the "example" of their work that they provided with their original estimate. Spacing of the fence posts is not even close to uniform, some posts were obviously set without being checked for being plumb, the fencing runs were obviously not calculated to minimize half-boards and those boards that needed to be split ( to make up for their lack of planning ) were obviously done so with no concern for anything but getting the job done as quickly as possible.
About 2 weeks after they FINALLY got done, I called with a workmanship problem with one of the gates coming apart, sent pictures and explained the problem and NEVER heard from them again. Needless to say, they TALK about their experience and professional work but no sign of it here and N&S Custom Fence showed NO professionalism and NO concern for the planning or proper installation of our fence and their workmanship warranty is non-existent. Save yourself A LOT of unnecessary aggravation and hire a reputable and professional fence company !
